The Language Lab strives to support students learning new languages by offering a range of materials for reference, self-instruction, and practice.
Language Lab Facilities
The Language Lab offers:
- over 30 computer work stations for individual and group work
- classroom and private room facilities:
- Media Classroom (3402) for interactive, technology-aided instruction
- Private Rooms (3302C and 3302D) with 3-4 individual computer workstations
- Book a room
General Resources
We also offer access to:
- Course material reserves for Linguistics & Language classes
- Tech and audiovisual equipment (available for checkout)
- Teaching aids for Language Program instructors (REALIA)
- Reference books, foreign language films, and linguistics books (view catalog)
- Study and Zoom-friendly areas
Materials are available for on-premises use to all UC San Diego students. Faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the local community are also welcome as space allows.

Books and Media
Our collection of print and media materials is focused on linguistics and languages, including self-instructional materials for second languages.
Mango
Try Mango Languages Online (login required), offering conversation and film-based tutorials in over 70 languages. Mango can be accessed anywhere with a campus internet connection or VPN.
