Heritage languages are learned at home, and are different from the dominant language of the community. A "heritage speaker" is someone who speaks that language.
If you grew up in a family where a language other than English was spoken, and if you speak and understand some of that language, you are in a perfect position to take a course in the Heritage Language Program.
